Two killed, one injured in traffic collision

Irvine, Calif. (July 22, 2017)– Two women were killed and a man was critically injured in a single-vehicle traffic collision early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., the Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene of a collision on northbound Jamboree Road between Main Street and Kelvin Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers discovered two female occupants of a Chevrolet Corvette deceased. The remaining occupant, a male, was critically injured and transported to a local hospital.

A fire hydrant was sheered as a result of the accident and has been turned off.

Jamboree is closed in both directions between Main and Kelvin as the investigation into the collision continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jonathan Cherney at 949-724-7024 or jcherney@cityofirvine.org.
