Irvine Police Department Investigating Double Homicide; Suspect in Custody

Irvine, Calif. – The Irvine Police Department and the Orange County Fire Authority responded Tuesday to a report of a shooting on Crystal Circle in Irvine. Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased victims. The suspect, Nolan Pascal Pillay, 37, was taken into custody at the scene without incident. No other suspects are at large, and there is no danger to the community.

Irvine Police believe this to be a family violence incident, in which the adult victims and the suspect were related. However, the victims in this case are not being named at this time, pending identification by the Coroner’s Office.

Officers responded to the scene Tuesday around 1 p.m. Due to the location’s proximity to Greentree Elementary, the school was placed on a brief lockdown out of an abundance of caution. School proceeded as normal, and the lockdown was lifted before parents arrived for afternoon pickup.

The investigation into this case is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Irvine Police Detective Jason Renshaw at 949-724-7244 or jrenshaw@cityofirvine.org.
