Two Suspects Arrested for Drug and Theft-Related Charges

Irvine, CA (Oct. 9, 2015): An Irvine Police Department (IPD) officer’s observation of a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of two suspects for various drug and fraud-related charges. The suspects are identified as Courtney Marie Crocker, 32, of Mission Viejo, and Samuel Delarosa, 34, of Santa Ana.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 8, 2015, an IPD officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a gas station. A review of the vehicle’s license plate and VIN revealed that the car was a rental but the plates had been switched and belonged to a 2003 Infinity.

When Crocker observed the officer, she walked away into the attached mini-mart. As the officer made contact with Delarosa in the parking lot, Crocker remotely locked the car doors from inside the store and discarded the keys. Additional officers arrived on scene and Crocker eventually exited the store. The car keys could not be located and a locksmith had to be called.

In a subsequent search of the vehicle, the suspects were found in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, morphine pills, drug paraphernalia, various stolen items, and indicia used for check fraud and forgery. Both suspects were arrested at the scene.

After the arrest, Crocker was identified by Irvine detectives as a suspect wanted for a package theft in the Quail Hill area. The incident was captured on video surveillance and is available on the IPD Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IrvinePD.
