Man Arrested for Stealing Over $300K in Inventory from Employer

Irvine, CA (Dec. 2,105): The Irvine Police Department has arrested a suspect for stealing over $300,000 in high-end storage disks from his employer. Todd Ryan Deck, 37, of Yorba Linda, was arrested for felony grand theft.

At the time of the crime, Deck was an employee at Red Digital Cinema. Over the past six months, the suspect stole over 70 high-end storage disks valued at over $300,000. The disks have up to a terabyte of data and are used for motion picture-quality cameras. Deck shipped the stolen disks to an unsuspecting buyer using company mail and received payment into his personal account.

Deck’s employer discovered the theft after conducting inventory and determining that dozens of discs were missing. The case was reported to IPD, who arrested the suspect without incident at his office today, December 2, 2015.
