Support Irvine Meals on Wheels This Holiday Season

Monday, December 4, 2017

Join the City of Irvine Senior Services in supporting the Irvine Meals on Wheels program this holiday season. Donations are needed to provide home-delivered meals for an increasing number of Irvine homebound seniors. Last year, a record number of meals – nearly 70,000 – were provided to eligible homebound seniors who rely on the program for health and nutritional support.

Irvine Meals on Wheels is much more than just a meal. In addition to providing three nutritionally balanced meals on weekdays, the program also provides important safety services, such as wellness checks, linkage with resources and in-home care management assessments. Due to a 27 percent increase in program participation over the past two years, there is currently a waiting list for home-delivered meal services. Your support can help us meet this growing need in the community.

Please consider supporting Irvine Meals on Wheels this holiday season with a tax-deductible donation. Your donation will directly support the provision of meals to qualifying Irvine seniors currently on the program’s waiting list. Donations may be designated in honor or in memory of a loved one, and Corporate Employee Matching Gifts are also accepted.

Orientation tours for the Irvine Meals on Wheels program are available. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help with packaging and delivering Irvine Meals on Wheels. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Lakeview Senior Center.
