Solar Decathlon 2015

Visit the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2015 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. October 8-11 and October 15-18 at the Orange County Great Park.

Free public event; $10 parking. No RSVP/ticketing.

Join the nearly 800 students from around the world who will provide public tours of their fully functioning solar houses. Energy efficiency is captured and imagined in the houses of the future that are revealed in the houses of the present. The students are studying architecture, engineering, urban planning and other subjects and have imagined and created and built each solar house.

ALSO, visit the Great Park’s Children’s Activities Area adjacent to the Solar Decathlon Village, open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the event’s weekends, October 10-11 and October 17-18. Face painting, balloon artists, inflatables, children’s activities and the Farm + Food Lab. Free event.
