Orange County Great Park’s Latest Exhibit Honors Graphic Design in California

The Orange County Great Park announces the opening of its latest exhibition, Eureka: A California Design Story with the Hoods and Friends. A free exhibition opening is 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3. The exhibition runs through Sunday, Feb. 11.

Eureka: A California Design Story with the Hoods and Friends explores how graphic design reflects, impacts and changes culture and society. The exhibition honors graphic design movements from the Gold Rush to the present, while chronicling both historic and obscure moments from California’s history.

Complementing the exhibition is “Panel Discussion: In Conversation with Jen and Amy Hood,” on Sunday, Feb. 11, 1-3 p.m. The community is invited to join designers Jen and Amy Hood as they discuss their careers in the creative industry. The exhibition and panel discussion are free.

The Orange County Great Park Gallery is located in the Palm Court Arts Complex at 6950 Marine Way, Irvine. Gallery hours are noon-4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, visit ocgp.org/arts or call 949-724-6247.
