Learn from Artists at Hands-on Workshops

Explore a new craft and take home your own masterpiece during hands-on workshops led by Irvine Fine Arts Center's exhibiting artists.

Learn about the wrap and weft of a weaving as well as basic weave structures and finishing techniques, and take home a colorful weaving of your own design, at Weaving Workshop with Lesley Kice Nishigawara. The workshop is Saturday, July 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Irvine Fine Arts Center, and is open to those 14 and older. Cost is $59; pre-registration is required at yourirvine.org.

On Saturday, Aug. 4, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., go behind the scenes of Eric Stoner's multimedia collage process and learn the wide variety of techniques and materials the artist employs in his work. Participants at Multimedia Collage Workshop with Eric Stoner will be guided through the process of storytelling through collage and illustration, and will take home a composition reflecting their own personal story. The workshop is open to adults 18 and older only. Cost is $59; pre-registration is required at yourirvine.org
