Thursday, December 15, 2016

Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2016) – The Irvine Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with three residential burglaries in the Woodbury neighborhood. Derek Tucker, 28, of Irvine was taken into custody on December 13 following a string of burglaries that occurred in the area over the last several weeks.

On December 5, officers received information about a suspect involved in a burglary a day earlier in which a set of golf clubs and other property was stolen from a residence. Officers followed this lead and found that the suspect, Tucker, was on probation. On December 7, police conducted a probation compliance check at Tucker’s residence and located stolen property, including items taken from the home where the golf clubs were stolen. The victim in that case was able to positively identify her property, and it was returned to her.

Tucker was not at the residence at the time of the search but was located by Irvine Police Department officers on December 13 and arrested for residential burglary.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Keith Herter at 949-724-7183 or kherter@cityofirvine.org.
