City of Irvine Workshop Helps Parents Learn to Manage Kids’ Difficult Behaviors

Monday, November 6, 2017

The City of Irvine invites parents of elementary-age children to “Helping Your Behaviorally Challenging Child,” a parent-focused workshop from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at Quail Hill Community Center.

Based in part on the work of Dr. Stuart Ablon and Dr. Ross Greene's "Treating Explosive Kids: The Collaborative Problem Solving Approach," this presentation will improve adult/child communication and educate parents on how to guide kids to avoid meltdowns and gain lagging skills. Each participant will receive a copy of Greene's book "The Explosive Child."

The “Helping Your Behaviorally Challenging Child” workshop is $15 for Irvine residents, $20 for non-residents. Registration is required, and available on a first-come, first-served basis online at irvinequickreg.org (course #190655) or by calling 949-724-6610.

Quail Hill Community Center is located at 39 Shady Canyon Drive in Irvine. For more information, visit cityofirvine.org/childcare or call 949-724-6632.
