Visit Irvine Civic Center and enjoy Art at City Hall. Abstract World: Paul Gardner is the first in a series of art exhibits at the City Hall Lobby. Abstract World runs March 4–22 during regular business hours (7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Mondays–Thursdays, and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Fridays; closed Saturdays and Sundays). Admission and parking are free.

Paul Gardner’s work creates a modern, expressively abstract take on our world, whether evoking the fluidity and forms of water or the liveliness of music, sound, and movement. His work communicates a sense of being in a place, having an experience, and being engulfed in sound, all infused with a joyous abandon. Gardner transfers his own three-dimensional experience of the world into a two-dimensional picture plane, inviting us to join him in an intuitive and improvised experiment while doing so.

Paul Gardner teaches painting classes at the Irvine Fine Arts Center. A native of Scotland, Gardner received a graduate degree in fine arts from Edinburgh College of Art. He has exhibited his art in Europe, United States, and Mexico.
