Court System Information

Irvine Police Department works with various courts to handle the needs of our citizens. Our jurisdictional court is Harbor Justice Center.   They handle most misdemeanor and some felony cases brought against adults including traffic violations.  Civil and Small Claims cases are also heard there.  Harbor Justice Center is located at 4601 Jamboree Road, Newport Beach, CA. Lamoreaux Justice Center hears both criminal and civil cases brought against minors and other cases involving families, including petitions for custody and support. For more information call their office at (714) 935-7000,  or you may access their website at: www.occourts.org/family

Jury Duty

Legal Aid

The Legal Aid Society of Orange County & Community Legal Services, provides free, civil legal services to low-income persons and seniors who live in Orange County.

Sheriff's Office

Small Claims Court

The Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach Facility (The Superior Court of California, Orange County), serves Irvine and surrounding cities for Small Claims Court.

Subpoenas

Subpoenas for records and information are served to the City Clerk's Office, located on the third floor of City Hall, and processed by the Office of Records and Information. For information call (949) 724-6205. 


Traffic Court

If you received a cititation in Irvine, Traffic Court is conducted at Harbor Justice Center (Newport Beach Facility), located at 4601 Jamboree Road, Newport Beach, CA  92660-2595.  Their office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  You can reach them at (949) 476-4699. 

There are several alternatives for paying traffic court fees:

By telephone using a Visa, Discover or MasterCard: Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach Facility (949) 476-4749

 

By Mail with payment by check, money order or credit card.  Make the check payable to the "Clerk of the Court."  Write your citation number on the check or money order. If you want to attend traffic school, write Traffic School on the check or money order.  If you want to pay by Visa, Discover or MasterCard, mail the payment to the court listed on your citation.

 

In Person at the court location marked on your citation. Plan to appear on or before the date and time of your scheduled appearance. There is no grace period. Payment to the court can be with cash, money order, Visa, Discover or MasterCard. Please remember to bring your Driver's License or ID and your paper­work that has your case or citation number on it, and proof of insurance. Call the telephone numbers listed above for informa­tion regarding the court's location and hours.
