Fee Schedule

The following fee information covers all areas of the Development Engineering Division of Public Works. If you have additional questions please call us at 949-724-7327.

Fee Schedules

Traffic Signals

  • The fee to inspect the installation of a new traffic signal is $4,091.00 per signal.
  • The fee to plan check a new traffic signal or a modification is $3,429.00 per signal.
  • The fee to inspect a traffic signal modification is $4,091.00 per signal.
  • The Traffic Operations inspection fee to oversee activation of a new traffic signal or modification is $1,087.00 per signal.

There will be an additional $1,500 deposit required for plan check reviews after the third review and for each plan check revision after the plans have been approved by the City Engineer. Staff review time will be charged on an hourly basis at a rate of $111/hr. and additional fees will be required if the balance drops below $750.00 for plan checks.

Street and/or Right of Way Improvements

The following two components comprise the fee to plan check a street and/or right-of-way improvement:

  1. $1,345 per acre of improvement (Rounded to the nearest hundredth of an acre.) For example, if street improvements, consisting of sidewalk, curb/gutter and street are 50' x 2,000' (100,000) ÷ 43,560 x 1,345.00 = $3,087.70
  2. $2.00 per lineal foot of storm drain for the first 1,000 feet plus $0.16 per lineal foot above 1,000 feet(if there is no storm drain, this fee does not apply)

The minimum fee for plan checking a street and/or right-of-way improvement is $850.00 for projects consisting of less than 0.3 acres and $2,177 for projects consisting of 0.3 acres or more. There will be an additional $1,500 deposit required for plan check reviews after the third review and for each plan check revision after the plans have been approved by the City Engineer. Staff review time will be charged on an hourly basis at a rate of $111/hr. and additional fees will be required if the balance drops below $750.00 for plan checks.

The following three components comprise the fee for inspection of street and/or right-of-way improvements:

  1. $120.00 pre-inspection fee for the first 3 acres plus $60.00 for each additional 1 acre (only when required by the Chief Building Official).
  2. $2,441.00 per each 1 acre of improvement.
  3. $2.02 per lineal foot of utility trench (other than storm drains). $120 minimum.

The minimum fee for inspecting a street and/or right-of-way improvement is $954.00.

Bridges

  • The fee for plan checking a bridge consisting of 3,000 sq. ft. or less is $7,106.00, and the plan check fee for a bridge over 3,000 sq. ft. is $7,106.00 plus $0.75 per sq. ft. over 3,000.
  • The fee for inspecting a bridge consisting of 3,000 sq. ft. or less is $12,694, and the fee for inspecting a bridge over 3,000 sq. ft. is $12,694 plus $0.65 per sq. ft. over 3,000.

Landscaping and Park Improvements

  • The plan check fee for landscaping and/or park improvements is $1,247.00 per 1 acre.
  • The minimum fee for plan checking is $105.00 for projects under 0.25 acres and $791.00 for projects 0.25 acres or greater.
  • The fee to inspect 0-10 acres of landscaping and/or park improvements is $1,500.00 per 1 acre. The fee to inspect over 10 acres of landscaping and/or park improvements is $15,000 plus $260.00 for each additional acre or portion thereof.
  • The minimum fee for inspection is $518.00
  • USA Alert - Landscape fee is $ 55.00

Utility Companies

The fee for plan checking a utility pipeline/conduit over 500 feet in length is $106.00 per sheet of plans, with a minimum fee of $426.00. Applicants processing projects of 500 feet or less must obtain an Encroachment Permit issued by the Building and Safety Division of the Community Development Department unless directed otherwise by the City Engineer.

The fees for inspecting the installation of a utility pipeline/conduit are as follows:

  • $2.02 per lineal foot of trench for projects with over 500 lineal feet of trench with a minimum fee of $120.00.

Final Maps

The fees for processing final maps are as follows:

  • $5,640 for maps with 1 or 2 lots/parcels.
  • $6,922 for maps with 3 lots/parcels.
  • $6,922 for maps with 4 to 40 lots/parcels plus $154 per lot/parcel over 3.
  • $12,900 for maps with 41 to 100 lots/parcels plus $103 per lot/parcel over 40.
  • $18,800 for maps with over 100 lots/parcels plus $51 per lot/parcel over 100.

In conjunction with the submittal of the above fees for City Engineer review of final maps, a deposit of $500.00 is required for the review of each final map by the Community Development Department. 

After three plan checks, a deposit is required and $111.00 per hour will be charged against the deposit

Preliminary Grading - Hydrology

  • For projects up to 20 acres, the fee for checking hydrology submitted in conjunction with preliminary grading applications is $125.00 per each 1 acre; with a minimum fee of $624.00.
  • For projects over 20 acres, the fee for checking hydrology submitted in conjunction with preliminary grading applications is $2,500.00 plus $21.00 for each 1 acre over 20 acres; with a maximum fee of $3,760.00.

Precise Grading - Hydrology

  • For project 0.5 acres and larger, the fee for checking hydrology submitted in conjunction with precise grading applications is $182.00 per each 1 acre; with a minimum fee of $910.00 and a maximum fee of $4,160.00.

Miscellaneous

  • $2,783.00 for review of easement deeds.

  • $3,508.00 for review of lot line adjustments.

  • $3,508.00 for review of lot mergers.

  • $4,976.00 for review of abandonment.

  • $488.00 for a City Engineer variance.

  • $474.00 for each plan revision.
