The studio is fully equipped with 3 large gas kilns, 2 electric kilns, and a Raku kiln. There are several wheels, 2 slab rollers, and a spray booth. Studio technicians maintain scheduled firings. Also provided are assorted glazes in our glaze room. Stoneware clay is available for purchase. Our instructors are all professional ceramics artists and many of them also instruct at local colleges. Learn from Kaoru Kaplan, Julia Klemek, Wayne Nayematsu, Scott Jennings, Jane Nishii, Carol Martens, and Garrett Stryker. Classes throughout the year are structured for beginning through advanced level participants and include wheel-throwing, hand-building, sculpture techniques, Japanese inspired ceramics, and functional items. Lynn Forbes, an accomplished sculptor, will teach Portrait Sculpture.
