State of the City 2013
Mayor Steven S. Choi, Ph.D., delivered his first State of the City Address February 26. Topics included public safety, the local economy, his vision for a City library, the Orange County Great Park, and continued support of business growth and public education. He also pointed out that Irvine, as an ideal master-planned city, reaches far beyond its borders in terms of outreach.

Mayor Choi highlighted the uptick in local sales tax revenue – a key economic generator for the City – as well as business growth and home construction. He told the audience he proposes to form a Mayor’s Forum for Education; a Mayor’s Advisory Council on Business; and an Irvine Library Foundation.
