Contact :Julia Engen, Lieutenant    949-724-7112

IRVINE, CA (May 10, 2013):  On May 9, 2013, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Irvine Police Detectives arrested Jarrid Thomas Baldogo (3/17/84) for lewd conduct with a child.  Baldogo, a private tennis instructor, is believed to have had inappropriate physical contact with a 13-year-old tennis student between February and April of this year.

On May 8, 2013, the victim’s parents provided information to Irvine Police Officers about the activity. They were alerted by text messages found on the victim’s phone.  Detectives immediately began an investigation and on May 9, 2013, they arrested Baldogo and served a search warrant at his residence in the Westpark area of Irvine.  At this time, there is no information indicating additional victims. However, Baldogo has had access to children for a number of years as he has worked as a tennis instructor.  For the past 2½ years, he has worked as a private instructor, seeking students over the Internet.  In prior employment, he worked as an employee of a company providing tennis instruction in the Woodbridge area of Irvine.

Detectives are actively investigating the possibility there may be other victims.  Anyone with information about this arrest should contact Detective Jonathan Sampson at or 949-724-7179.
