TRAFFIC COLLISION RESULTS IN HOSPITALIZATION OF PEDESTRIAN

IRVINE, CA (November 3, 2009):  Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 3, 2009 Irvine Police responded to the intersection of Harvard and Irvine Center Drive to investigate the report of an injury traffic collision at that location.  Upon arrival officers learned that a car and a pedestrian had collided, resulting in a head injury to the pedestrian.  The pedestrian was attended to at the scene by emergency medical personnel, and then was transported to an area hospital.  The extent of the woman's injuries is not yet known. 

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the involved vehicle, a Lexus ES 350, was westbound on Irvine Center Drive while the pedestrian was crossing the intersection.  The cause of the collision has not yet been determined.  Police investigators have responded to investigate.
