IRVINE, CA (August 1, 2013):  On Tuesday, August 6, 2013, the Irvine Police Department invites residents to join the National Night Out celebration of community/police partnerships by planning an event in their neighborhood or by attending one of the sponsored events. This year there will be three sponsored events thanks to the generosity of Target and Albertsons!

Irvine Police and Orange County Fire Authority personnel will be at all three locations and emergency vehicles will be on display. There will be games and prizes for the kids. Bring a non-perishable food item to receive a free raffle ticket! Events begin at 5:30 p.m.

Meet your neighbors, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) members, IDEC (Irvine Disaster Emergency Communications) members and Community Police Academy graduates. Learn how you can become an active participant in maintaining your neighborhood’s safety!

National Night Out provides the perfect opportunity for the men and women in our Department to engage Community members in our successful partnership,” said Chief Dave Maggard. “These types of partnerships play a key role in our continuing efforts to remain one of America’s safest communities.”
