The Pavement Maintenance Program inspects, schedules, and repairs an inventory of more than 1700 lane miles of roadways, 43 miles of bike trails, and 53 acres of parking lot surfaces within the City of Irvine.The goal of the program is to maintain and enhance the physical environment while promoting a safe a secure pavement system for the community.Maintenance repairs include pot hole patching, dig-out repairs, overlays, crack seals, chip seals and slurry seals.

The City of Irvine is currently operating on a seven-year cycle for slurry seal of all public streets in the City.

Maintaining and improving City roadways is a major community priority and a number of road construction projects are generally underway throughout the city.
