 | Jamboree/I-5 Detour Information As part of our commitment to improving traffic flow, the City's Public Works Department is widening Jamboree at the Interstate 5 Freeway between El Camino Real and Michelle to provide a fourth lane in each direction on Jamboree. Completion of the Jamboree Road widening between El Camino Real and Michelle is scheduled for next month. The final phase of the project includes reconstructing the Interstate 5 northbound off-ramp and the southbound off-ramp. To minimize impacts to heavy weekday traffic and to ensure the safety of the public during construction this work will be done on weekends when traffic is light.
One off-ramp to Jamboree will be closed each weekend for four consecutive weeks beginning the weekend of May 10-13, and ending the weekend of May 31-June 3. Ramp closure hours are from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. The northbound off-ramp will be closed the first two weekends (detour map); the southbound off-ramp will be closed the last two weekends (detour map). Two travel lanes on Jamboree adjacent to the closed ramp will remain open during each ramp closure and all ramps will reopen on weekdays between ramp closures.
Electronic message boards, detour signs and traffic control devices will guide traffic around the ramp closure and information on this detour will be placed on the City’s website at http://cityofirvine.org Although every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing and to minimize disruptions during construction, motorists should plan to use alternate routes or the recommended detour.
