The target completion date for the project is April 2011.
To mitigate construction-related impacts on traffic, construction begins after 7 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. All traffic lanes remain open, however, before 9 a.m. and after 3 p.m.
Safety First
During construction, the safety of both the public and the workers is the City’s top priority. To this end, the Irvine Police Department is enforcing a 35 mph speed limit within the project construction zone. Please help us by adhering to the posted speed limit.
For your safety, bicycle lanes and the bicycle trail on Jeffrey and along the Metrolink railroad have been closed for the duration of the project. Bicycle detour signs are posted on surrounding streets including Irvine Center Drive, Walnut, Sand Canyon, and Yale.
We ask that, for your own safety, you stay away from the construction site at all times – even when workers are not present.
