 | Jeffrey Road Grade Separation | | Project Overview The Jeffrey Grade Separation project is one of the largest Public Works project undertaken by the City. It is particularly complex because it requires coordination between Metrolink and utility companies. When complete, the three lanes in each direction will ease congestion at the Metrolink railroad crossing. Additionally, the project will provide an under-crossing, much like the one at Culver, allowing traffic to move unimpeded; Jeffrey traffic will no longer stop for passing trains. The pedestrian/bicycle bridge adjacent to the railroad tracks will enhance the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists crossing Jeffrey. Construction begins after 7 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. to mitigate construction-related impact on traffic. All traffic lanes, however, will remain open before 9 a.m. and after 3 p.m. Conceptual Rendering The City anticipates that construction will be complete in December 2010.
