Dances


Cost: $5.00 online, $6 on-campus
Time: 7-10 pm
Place: Heritage Park Community Center

PARENT PERMISSION:

  • Students must have printed registration receipt for admission to the dance.
  • NO NOTES will be accepted at the door for admission.
  • No tickets will be sold at the door.
  • Tickets can be purchased until 5:00pm the night of the dance online or by walk-in registration at City Hall Class Registration (1 Civic Center Plaza) or at the Heritage Park Community Center (14301 Yale Ave).
  • Tickets cannot be sold or given to other students.

DRESS CODE:

  • Students wearing attire deemed inappropriate by MSP staff will be asked to call their parents to bring a change of clothes.
  • All dance participants will be searched prior to entering the building. Any items determined to be dangerous or inappropriate will be held by staff until the end of the dance.
  • NO PURSES OR BACKPACKS WILL BE ALLOWED.

BEHAVIOR:

  • Participants engaging in unacceptable and/or inappropriate behavior such as, fighting, smoking, foul language, bullying, or inappropriate dancing, will be asked to leave the dance. Parents will be contacted to pick-up their child who will not be allowed to return to the dances for the remainder of the year.
  • All students need to be picked up NO LATER THAN 10:15 p.m. Students picked-up after 10:30 p.m. will not be allowed to attend the next dance. Irvine police officers will follow up with the parents of any student not picked up by 10:30 p.m.
  • Please arrange safe transportation for your child. No one will be allowed to walk, ride their bike, or skateboard home.

POLICE PRESENCE:

  • Two Irvine Police Officers will be assigned to each dance. The Police Department supports these events as a safe, legitimate place for Irvine youth to "hang-out."
