‘CHAMPIONS' (Community Helpers Assisting Mature Persons In The Neighborhood)
This is a volunteer program designed to assist isolated older adults in the Irvine community. CHAMPIONS volunteers assist seniors with a variety of services including being a friendly visitor/caller, shopping, transportation, and enjoying social engagements. CHAMPIONS volunteers attend an eight-week training session and possess a desire to assist others in a caring, non-judgmental approach. Classes are offered each Fall and are facilitated by Anne Kanter-Edwards, MFT.
Please call 949-724-6915 for additional information.
Tax Preperation Assistance
A trained group of volunteers provides tax assistance to persons who are in need of simple advisement. Active and retired tax professionals volunteer their time in this program.
Foreign Language Instructor
If you are proficient in more than one language and have the interest and aptitude to instruct others you can join a group of motivated volunteers who share their knowledge with others who are interested. Please specify the language, other than English, you feel qualified to instruct.
Foreign Language Translator
You can assist older residents and their families who have difficulty connecting with others or who are in need of services. Without translators in a number of languages, it is difficult, if not impossible for some individuals to participate in our programs and services.
