City of Irvine Disability Services provides support services and social programs to persons with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and providers who live or work in Irvine.
United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County (UCP/OC)
UCP/OC serves children with a wide range of conditions including autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, down syndrome, and developmental delays. In support of children having special needs UCP/OC provides two highly individualized programs designed to meet the unique needs of the child in order to assure success in a childcare setting. Both the Inclusion Connection and Childcare Connection programs offer child care staff training and support components.
The YMCA Community Services in Tustin
The YMCA Community Services in Tustin offers several programs to support children with special needs and those who care for them. The Childcare Health Consultation Program provides consultations on health, safety and behavior, resources, trainings, and referral services to childcare providers of children ages 0-5 years for all of Orange County free of charge. The Y Inclusion program will provide ongoing workshops and trainings for child care staff serving a Regional Center of Orange County client.
Irvine Unified School District School Readiness Program
On-site observation and consultation for child care providers facing serious behavioral challenges from children ages 0-5 years.
California Inclusive Child Care
The mission of the California Inclusive Child Care Project is to create a statewide system of support, training and resources that gives all families and providers barrier-free access to inclusive child care.

Resources and materials to support your role as an early care and education professional. Resources include materials on inclusion, guidance, behavior management and activities for children with special needs.
Children’s Home Society Lending Library
The Children’s Home Society of California (CHS) Special Needs Resource Library has over 3,000 resources available to assist child care providers and parents who care for children with special needs. The lending library is a free service.
