As part of the more than $5 million in support given annually to Irvine public schools, the Irvine City Council has an allocation of up to $500,000 annually through its Irvine Educational Partnership Fund. The fund is a grant program enhancing academic and health programming for Irvine students, grades K-12, in the Irvine Unified School District and those Irvine schools served by Tustin Unified School District. By allocating funds through our Irvine Educational Partnership Fund, we are able to leverage community resources. This enables Irvine public schools to provide more and better support directly to our young people.

As a result of Measure R, the Irvine Schools Support Initiative that was passed by voters in November 2010, the Irvine Educational Partnership Fund will continue from fiscal year 2011-12 through 2013-14. The fund was first created by City Council action in January 2006.

Public school districts or lawfully formed California non-profit corporations working in partnership with the Irvine Unified School District or Tustin Unified School District are eligible to apply for grants. Application programs/activities must be designed to directly enhance health services, such as on-site nursing, nutrition or guidance programs, and be deliverable at a public school(s) located within the boundaries of the City of Irvine.
