The second-ever playoff game will be held at the Great Park’s Soccer Stadium when Orange County Soccer Club takes on Reno 1868 FC in round 2 of the USL Cup Playoffs. The team beat Saint Louis, 4-0, in round 1. Game begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. For info and tickets visit OC Soccer Club.
In an ongoing effort to promote voter registration and participation, all eligible residents are encouraged to register by October 22. The Irvine Civic Center will also serve as an Early Voting Service Center, beginning Saturday, October 27 through Monday, November 5.
The Irvine City Council will consider a Sunshine Ordinance at its October 23 meeting that would enhance government transparency by making agendas available 12 days in advance, rather than five.
The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will be participating in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center. Three other Irvine locations are also participating.
The Irvine Fine Arts Center invites the community to its 36th annual Holiday Faire on Friday, November 2, and Saturday, November 3. More than 100 talented Southern California artists will have unique handmade gifts for purchase, including holiday decorations, hand-blown glass, ceramics, and more.
Business leader Julie Hill helped build Human Options, which provides safe haven and life-changing programs to help abused women, their children and families. She will be the special speaker at the 37th Annual Irvine Community Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast Thursday, November 15.
